Providing HELP, HOPE and a HOME for hurting women

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is Tabitha House?

Tabitha Ministry is a year-long, Christ-based residential program that mentors and disciples women who are ready to rebuild their lives. Through a structured 12-step, faith-based approach, residents receive guidance, healing, and practical support to help them create lasting change.

What are the requirements to be accepted into the program?

We welcome women who are ready to leave their past behind and commit to personal and spiritual growth. Our program is active and hands-on, so applicants should be physically able to climb stairs and work approximately 20 hours per week in our community thrift store to meet the service requirement.

What is the cost of the program?

There is no cost to apply or enroll. All housing, food, and program services are provided free of charge, thanks to the generosity of our community donors and partners.

Is the program religious?

Yes. Tabitha Ministry is a Christ-centered program. Residents participate in weekly worship services, Bible studies, and faith-based classes designed to support spiritual growth and healing.

Do residents have to be Christian to apply?

No. Applicants do not need to be Christian, but they must be open to learning about the Christian faith and participating in faith-based activities.

What does a typical week look like?

Residents spend about 20 hours each week serving in our thrift store, Tabitha's Closet, as part of their community service and job training. Each week also includes a variety of classes such as:
-
Christ-based 12-step recovery
-
Critical thinking and coping skills
-
Healthy boundaries and co-dependency
-
Trauma recovery
-
Life skills (Communication, budgeting, self-care)
-
Bible study and worship

Residents attend church every Sunday as part of their spiritual development.
What are the rules for residents?
For one year, residents live in a safe and structured “bubble” - a season of separation from outside distractions - to focus fully on healing. During the 12-month program, residents agree to:
-
No cell phones or Internet access.
-
No outside employment or driving.
-
No romantic relationships.
-
No drugs, alcohol, nicotine, or vaping.
-
No Subutex, Suboxone, or Methadone.
-
No outside financial support.

Yes. We work with women in various stages of the legal process. Tabitha Ministry provides transportation for court, probation, and other mandatory appointments.

Can I take prescription medication while in the program?

Some prescription medications are allowed with prior approval. Each case is reviewed to ensure safety and program compatibility.
