HOW WE GOT STARTED

Cindi Wagner
Founder of Tabitha Ministry
1953-2021
From an early age, my life was marked by loss and pain. My father left when I was just a baby, and my mother worked tirelessly to raise five children on her own. We lacked stability and emotional support, and I grew up carrying heavy feelings of rejection and unworthiness.
In my search for love and belonging, I often looked in the wrong places and faced many hardships, including early motherhood, unhealthy relationships, and abuse. By my twenties, I was exhausted, broken, and convinced my life had no purpose.
One night, in a moment of deep despair, I reached out to God for help - and He met me there. In that quiet, desperate moment, I remembered His love and the hope I had once known as a little girl sitting in church. It was the beginning of a new chapter, one grounded in grace, faith, and healing. Over the next several years, God guided me toward restoration. I earned a degree in Pastoral
Psychology, served as a chaplain, and began teaching classes for women who had experienced abuse and trauma. I became passionate about helping other women discover the freedom and peace I had found in Christ.
In 2000, I founded Tabitha Ministry - a place where women can heal from addiction, abuse, and brokenness in a safe, Christ-centered environment. Our program gives women the time, structure, and community they need to rebuild their lives and rediscover their worth as daughters of God.
Today, I’m grateful for a life I once thought was beyond repair. God restored my family, renewed my purpose, and allowed me to witness hundreds of women experience healing through His love. My story is proof that no matter how far gone we feel, God’s grace can reach us - and bring beauty from even the deepest pain.
